Urban Edge Investments has been active in real estate since 2001, with a primary focus on creating infill, family-oriented townhomes—commonly referred to as “Missing Middle” housing. The company recently marked a significant milestone with the commencement of its 20th project across Western Canada representing more than $40 million in total project value. Its experience spans a broad range of asset classes, including new single-family homes, condominium conversions, land development, and industrial holdings. Today, Urban Edge Investments, along with its affiliated companies, oversees $19 million in assets under management (AUM) and continues to prioritize the delivery of strong, well-balanced returns for its investment partners.

This performance is reflected in the firm’s early track record. Its first apartment building acquisition in 2006, followed by a condominium conversion completed in 2007, generated a 123% return on investment within 14 months. Similarly, the company’s first ground-up development—comprised of four Missing Middle townhomes—achieved a 152% return on investment over a 2.5-year period.

In his role as Managing Director, Trent Praski has played a pivotal role in spearheading all of these projects. Trent earned his MBA in 2001 with a focus on Marketing and International Business. As part of his business education, he studied at the Jonkoping International Business School in Sweden and participated in an international consulting project in Ukraine. Following the completion of his MBA, Trent gained valuable experience in Management Consulting as a Senior Associate, specializing in Business Systems Analysis, with several multinational corporations, including American Airlines, Shell Oil, Aon, and West Jet. Subsequently, he held positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson from 2002 to 2006.

 

Trent became a licensed realtor in 2012 and has taken several real estate investment and development courses through the University of Calgary, University of British Colombia and Langara College. He is currently licensed as a Real Estate Advisor with Macdonald Realty Ltd.

Prior to completing his MBA, Trent completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. His teaching experience took him to South Korea where he taught English as a Second Language and New Zealand where he taught grades 4 through 6.

Trent is the Co-Founder of the Wealth Development Network, and the key organizer of Vancouver Real Estate Club and Synergy Real Estate Network. He is also the Co-Founder of vancouvermissingmiddle.com and is a past member of the Real Estate Investment Network.
